Dental clinic marketing in Jodhpur: how to get more patient bookings online
Patients pick a dentist on their phone before they ever call. This guide shows Jodhpur dental clinics how to turn that search into bookings while staying inside the dental advertising rules that the National Dental Commission reminded dentists about in October 2026.

Quick answerBuild a factual website that lists your treatments, dentists, timings and how to book, make your Google Business Profile complete and accurate, and ask every patient for an honest review without any incentive. Make booking easy by phone, WhatsApp and a short form, and answer the same day. Skip before-and-after photos, patient testimonials and "best dentist" claims, because the dental ethics rules treat them as unethical and the National Dental Commission warned dentists about exactly these practices in October 2026.
When a tooth hurts, most people in Jodhpur search "dentist near me" on their phone, check the map, read a few reviews and call the clinic that looks open, close and trustworthy. Planned treatments follow a slower version of the same path, with more time on the clinic's website.
Reviews sit at the centre of that decision. BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 found that 97% of consumers read online reviews and that 41% "always" read them when browsing for businesses. The survey is not India-specific, but the habit is familiar.
What rules apply to dental clinic marketing in India?
- The 2014 code of ethics. Chapter 6 of the Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014 allows dentists to advertise "provided that they maintain decorum". It lists as unethical: false promises in advertising, camps and handbills that cold-target vulnerable groups, claims of superiority or special skill over others, boasting of cases or cures, and a self-photograph on the sign board or letterhead.
- What the code explicitly allows. Clause 8.2.9 says a website about a dentist or clinic "where all information is factual" is not unethical, and that it can carry the treatment facilities available and their fees, which "will in fact help patients to make informed choices". Clause 8.2.8 allows listings on the internet as public information, again without superiority claims. Announcements about new equipment or services are allowed "without boastful claims of being the 'best' or 'first'".
- The October 2026 advisory. In an advisory dated 14 October 2026, the National Dental Commission's Ethics and Dental Registration Board said some dentists were recording and broadcasting consultations and procedures, publishing patient testimonials and before-and-after photographs, making misleading treatment claims, spreading inaccurate health information and using self-aggrandising publicity. It asked all registered dentists to follow clauses 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 strictly and said a proven violation may lead to a show-cause notice, suspension or removal from the State and National Register.
In practice: no "Jodhpur's best dentist", no smile transformations with patient faces, no treatment videos recorded in the chair, and no "painless guaranteed" lines. This is general information, not legal advice; check anything you are unsure about with your State Dental Council or a lawyer.
What should a dental clinic website include?
Think of the website as a factual front desk that is open at midnight:
- Treatments: one short page or section per treatment you actually offer: what it is, how many visits it usually takes and what to expect afterwards, with no outcome promises.
- Dentists: names, registered qualifications and the treatments each one handles. Only use "specialist" titles backed by a recognised qualification.
- Fees, if you choose to publish them: the code allows fees on a clinic website, and many patients prefer a clear starting point to "call for details".
- Clinic information: address with a map, parking, timings, emergency hours and languages spoken.
- Booking: a click-to-call button, a WhatsApp link and a short form asking only for name, phone, preferred time and reason for visit.
- Patient information: aftercare instructions and common questions, kept accurate, because the advisory names inaccurate health information as a problem.

How do you show up on Google Maps for "dentist near me"?
For a clinic, the Google Business Profile often brings more calls than the website. Set it up the way Google's own guidelines for representing your business describe:
- Name: use the clinic's real name as it appears on your signage. Adding keywords such as "best dental clinic Jodhpur" breaks the guidelines and can get the profile suspended.
- Practitioner profiles: Google names dentists as individual practitioners. A public-facing dentist can have their own profile, which may include a title such as Dr. If several dentists work at one clinic, the clinic keeps its own profile and each practitioner profile carries only the dentist's name.
- Categories, hours and services: choose the most accurate primary category, list the treatments you offer and keep festival and holiday hours updated.
- Photos: the reception, treatment rooms, sterilisation area, equipment and the outside of the building so people can find you. No patient photos.

How should a clinic collect Google reviews?
Ask every patient, not just the happy ones, and never offer anything in return. Google's Maps content policy does not allow merchants to offer incentives such as payment, discounts or free services for a review, to discourage negative reviews, or to selectively ask only satisfied customers. Reviews written by staff or family count as a conflict of interest.
A simple routine: the front desk sends a review link on WhatsApp after the visit. Reply to every review briefly, and never mention treatment details in a public reply. Our online reputation management guide has reply examples.
Should dental clinics run Google or Meta ads?
- Google search ads reach people already looking, for example "dentist open now Jodhpur" or "root canal treatment Jodhpur". Send each ad to the matching treatment page.
- Audience limits: Google's personalised advertising policy lists health among its sensitive interest categories, and advertisers promoting in those categories cannot use advertiser-curated audiences such as their own remarketing lists. Expect search and location targeting to do most of the work.
- Meta ads: Meta's advertising standards do not allow ads that assert or imply a viewer's personal attributes, which includes health. So "Do your teeth hurt?" is risky copy; a factual line about timings or a new service is safer.
Every ad still has to follow the 2014 code: factual, no superiority claims, no false promises.
A 30-day plan for a Jodhpur dental clinic
- Week 1: list your treatments, dentists' qualifications and timings. Remove before-and-after photos, testimonials and "best" claims everywhere.
- Week 2: update treatment and dentist pages, and add click-to-call and WhatsApp buttons.
- Week 3: complete the Google Business Profile, upload clinic photos and start the review routine.
- Week 4: if you run ads, start one small search campaign for your most-searched treatment and track the calls it brings.

Frequently asked questions
Can dentists in India advertise their clinic?
Yes, within limits. The 2014 code allows advertising with decorum and factual websites and listings, but treats false promises, superiority claims and boasting of cases as unethical.
Can a dental clinic post before-and-after photos on Instagram?
The National Dental Commission's advisory of 14 October 2026 named before-and-after photographs and patient testimonials among the practices it was concerned about. Leave them out.
Can a dental clinic show its fees on its website?
Yes. Clause 8.2.9 of the 2014 code says clinic websites can carry the treatment facilities available and the fees for them, as long as all information is factual.
Can we give patients a discount for leaving a Google review?
No. Google's Maps policy does not allow merchants to offer payment, discounts or free services in exchange for reviews, and it does not allow asking only happy patients.
Should each dentist in our clinic have a Google Business Profile?
A public-facing dentist who can be reached at the clinic during stated hours can have one, according to Google's guidelines. The clinic keeps its own profile, and each practitioner profile uses only the dentist's name.
